SCOTT SATIN

Q: Now, the cast: What was it like working with... Joe Howard?
SS: Joe Howard was a tremendous comedic actor with impeccable timing. He was also a heck of a nice guy. It's been years since I've seen him and I hope he's doing well. Joe should be starring in his own sitcom. He deserves it.

...Beverly Leech?
SS: Beverly was a real sweetheart. I really liked her a lot and she nailed the character of Kate Monday. We became friends over the years we made the show. I wish we had stayed in contact with each other. Unfortunately, when the show ended we both went our separate ways which tends to happen a lot in Hollywood.

...James Earl Jones?
SS: James Earl Jones did the show as a favor to us because he believed in the cause and liked what we were doing. He was a big star and his name gave us tremendous cache value. By the way, if you look closely at his office set, you will see a small Darth Vader doll sitting on the table behind his desk. He never even knew it was there. We put it on the table as an inside joke for the crew.

...Sam and Steve?
SS: Sam and Steve had a ball working on the show. They were real police officers who had never acted before. They did a great job even if we did have to do multiple takes and I mean multiple takes every time we gave them a line! By the way, as hard as I tried, neither of them would ever fix a parking ticket for me!

Q: How much math did you learn by filming the series?
SS: What I learned about math was to make sure we had an expert on the set at all times because trust me, we would have somehow screwed it up if we didn't! We were so worried about the shoot, the comedy, the props, the schedule, etc. that we tended to make mistakes on the math front. How funny is that considering that was the whole point of why we were there!

Q: What have you done since Mathnet, and what are you doing today?
SS: After Mathnet, I went on to write and produce numerous game shows. I worked on Hollywood Squares, Extreme Gong, Bobcat's Big Ass Show, Make Me Laugh, and many others too numerous to mention. I then moved into reality television. I was the Executive Producer and writer of NBC's hit series Meet My Folks and also it's spin off, Who Wants to Marry My Dad? I am also the EP of TBS' Outback Jack. My production company also produces a series of specials for NBC titled Most Outrageous TV Moments. We have already done over 20 episodes and are currently in production on six more.

Q: What would you say to the fans who still watch Mathnet?
SS: What I would say to the fans still watching Mathnet is, "Where the heck is it on right now? I want to watch the show again too!"

To quote Steve Jobs, there's still one more thing...
