I can only hope that the series will be released on dvd in it's entirety, for I would definitely be one of the first to buy a copy. | Comment: | The first few years of my life, before I moved away from my native Indianapolis on a moving excursion with my parents that lasted through high school, were probably the happiest. My parents worked full-time, so after pre-school and aftercare, I came home with my grandma and routinely watched two shows on PBS: "Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?" and "Square One TV" (occasionally Reading Rainbow beforehand.) I'm now a mechanical engineering student at Purdue, and whether or not I ever really watched the show specifically for the math education, I probably owe more to it than anything else for both my skill in math and my fond after-school memories from pre-1994 Indy. I still have one or two episodes on tape that haven't been completely recorded over. Here's to the happiest, most innocent and peaceful years of our lives and the far-reaching implications and possibilities stemming from a solid background in math, long live Square One! |
